20 Recent Movies That Deserve A Sequel

You'd be forgiven for thinking that in the year 2025, the limit of where cinematic vampire stories could be taken had been reached. Surely, there was nothing new that could be brought to the table without stepping on what had already come before?

In came Ryan Coogler, who with Sinners brought a completely fresh take on the genre and changed the game entirely. Not only did he prove what could still be done in the world of vampires, but he also created a cultural phenomenon and forced the Oscars to stand up and pay attention to horror (with the most nominations for a single movie in history, no less).

While Sinners doesn't necessarily need another movie, with the director admitting it's not something he has considered yet, that doesn't mean that Sinners 2 wouldn't be more must-watch cinema.

There is a whole world of the supernatural to explore in a way that could yet again be a cultural celebration, whether the story follows Stack and Mary (Michael B. Jordan and Hailee Steinfeld) in the following years, a prequel surrounding Jack O'Connell's Remmick, or even a whole new cast of characters.

Sinners does not need a sequel, but if Ryan Coogler were to return for more, there surely wouldn't be anyone to object.
