4. The Others Pretty Much Stole Its Plot From The Innocents

A lot of serious horror fans are probably well aware of this comparison already, given that they're super hard to ignore if you happen to have seen both
The Others and
The Innocents, released in 2001 and 1961 respectively. And though both movies are "inspired" by a novella written by the great Henry James, there's no clear indication made at all that
The Others owes pretty much everything to
The Innocents anywhere in the credits. Which it does.
The Others, then, is about a mother looking after two small children in a remote country house in England just after WWII. When some weird new servants arrive, everything starts to go a little crazy, and the mother begins to believe that her house is haunted (she sees ghosts). Which is almost exactly the same as
The Innocents, though the final plot twist is different in both, 'cause why not? Granted, in
The Innocents, it was a governor and not a mother, too, but the beat-for-beat script can't hide its influences, and it's slightly bugging then it's never been billed as a "remake." And
The Sixth Sense is being ripped off here, too, okay? Speaking of which...
