5. Uncle Rico - Napoleon Dynamite
Uncle Rico is one of the most bizarre characters to have ever been conjured by the human mind. Though he starts out relatively okay in the beginning of
Napoleon Dynamite - what with his personal love of fatty steaks and trying to impress his nephews - by the end of the movie this guy has entered annoying character territory. A loser in near enough every sense, the really creepy part of Rico's personality reveals itself when he decides that it's a good idea to go out into the world and try to sell breast enhancement drugs to teenage girls. Why, Rico? Why did your brain tell you that was a sensible idea? Annoying as Rico is, though, there's enough scheming going on here to warrant 57 spin-offs individual movie spin-offs chronicling his many adventures. I'll talk about one.
The Spin-Off: "Uncle Rico Goes To Washington (State)" To my mind, there aren't enough movies out there with brackets in the title, so this spin-off already has that going for it. Aside from that snazzy feature, "Uncle Rico Goes To Washington (State)" picks up a few years after
Napoleon Dynamite, with our titular character moving out of Idaho because his girlfriend has dumped him again. In Washington (State), he starts another hair-brained scheme, this time to do something even more insane, like, uh, import rare turtles and charge people to see them or something. I haven't thought that bit through, yet. I'll be funny, though, I assure you. Hello?
