1. His Civil War Role Is Sure To Disappoint
By the time Marvel and Sony finally reached an agreement, Captain America: Civil War was already in the fairly late stages of development. Yes, Kevin Feige has revealed that they always had two ways to approach the movie (one with Spider-Man, one without), but there's no way his role here is going to be anywhere near as satisfying as it would have been had the deal gone down eighteen months ago. It's also possible that Spider-Man is only going to make the briefest of cameo appearances, something which is sure to feel like a massive let down when compared to both the expectations of fans and the sizeable role he played in the Civil War comic book. Even if the Russo Brothers have nailed Spider-Man's part in proceedings - and rumours of a very unique fight scene between the wall-crawler and one of The Avengers point to that being the case - then there's still a good chance that it won't live up to what many are hoping is going to be a huge role for Peter Parker. Captain America: Civil War is just an introduction for the hero at the end of the day, and while it's important, it's unlikely to do more than just vaguely set the stage for his solo outing. Spider-Man isn't going to necessarily be an Avenger at this point, while his youth is sure to make him something of an odd one out. Instead, the role everyone really wants to see Spider-Man take on in the Marvel Cinematic Universe as a bona fide member of Earth's Mightiest Heroes is likely being saved for Avengers: Infinity War, so keeping expectations in check for what could ultimately be a fairly unsatisfying cameo in Civil War is no doubt for the best. This movie is also going to be a big test for Tom Holland; if he doesn't impress here, then that too is sure to have an impact on how moviegoers feel going into 2017's Spider-Man reboot!
