9 Leisurely Locations That Movies Ruined Forever

3. Parties

Which Film Ruined It? Society How Did It Ruin It? By putting a whole new spin on celebration and partying. Everyone's been to a weird party or two in their time. The sort of night out where you see unspeakable things that are only ever acceptable in the nether-zone of inebriation. You know, the sort of thing that's ballsy at the time, shocking in the morning, and eventually amusing when you're back in the safety of the real world. Well, Brian Yuzna's Society takes the aspect of the party anecdote and provides it with jaw-dropping and revolting imagery that's enough to keep you locked up in your room with the door bolted shut until your pension comes in. An independent American horror film from 1992, Society tells the story of a teen named Bill, who feels uneasy when surrounded by his family and their high-class friends. He soon learns that he is different after all. Much different. Society peels back the glossy coat of the upper-classes to reveal an astonishing underbelly that comes alive during a typical large, formal party. You won't quite believe your eyes during the film's final sequences, where the guests begin participating in activities that have no place anywhere on planet earth. Needless to say, if you ever stumble into a party like the one in Society...leave. Immediately.
