9 Upcoming Movie Trailers That Are Probably Tricking You

3. King Ghidorah Doesn't Fight Godzilla - Godzilla: King Of The Monsters

The first trailer for the upcoming Godzilla sequel focuses on the iconic creature having to contend with a new army of "Titans", namely the legendary Mothra, Rodan and especially the towering, three-headed dragon King Ghidorah.

The trailer features curiously little of Ghidorah itself, with the emphasis being instead on the other three Titans, which some have suggested is an attempt by Warner Bros. to preserve the surprise of Ghidorah's appearance.

Alternatively, it might mean that the iconic monster isn't really in the movie much at all, and doesn't even end up fighting Godzilla as an awesome poster implies.

Ghidorah's presence is only felt in a handful of shots, where he's frozen in ice, his signature yellow energy beams are briefly shown causing destruction, and we get a closing money shot of the monster rising up through the fog.

True to the restrained minimalism of Gareth Edwards' previous film, don't be surprised if Ghidorah only briefly battles Mothra and Rodan in the third act, and a collision with the King of the Monsters is saved for a future film.
