9 Upcoming 2014 Movies That Are Most Likely To Catch Us By Surprise

6. The One I Love

The One I Love And here we have a case wherein a major selling point of the film is a plot twist itself, something uncommon in the broken-marriage-in-repair genre. Director Charlie McDowell has been coy as to how to market the film without giving away said twist (and even I€™ve been able to avoid it to this opint), though from all indications, he shouldn€™t have much trouble. From all accounts, Elizabeth Moss (Mad Men) and Mark Duplass (Safety Not Guaranteed) turn in exceptional performances as the troubled couple that, should the film gain enough traction throughout the year, could garner awards attention. And lest the film fall prey to audiences finding it gimmicky, critics could go to bat for McDowell€™s script when handing out year-end accolades.
