Birds Of Prey: 10 References And Easter Eggs You May Have Missed

1. Dinah's Mother

Black Canary
DC Comics

The magical thing about Birds of Prey referencing Dinah Lance's mother is that it's a fact that many comic fans don't even know, let alone folks only familiar with DC's cinematic universe.

Admittedly, this lack of awareness is totally fair, as Black Canary's mother was... also Black Canary, with Dinah taking on her superhero name as a tribute to her hard-working parent. Hilariously, her mother's name is also Dinah, and they look very similar, meaning that even people who read comics featuring the original Black Canary could easily think she and her daughter are one and the same.

Having this cleared up in the film is an absolute treat, as it provides an easy way for some pretty complicated lore to get dished out.
