Marvel have a poor track record of killing characters off; sure, theyll kill" them for shock effect, but the character will usually show up with a mild limp an hour later. Civil War is said to have wide ranging implications for the MCU, so all signs point to someone taking a permanent dirt nap by the time the credits roll. The last trailer featured a scene of Tony Stark cradling a fallen War Machine, so a betting man might put his money there. However, a similar tease involving Nick Fury's demise was seen in The Winter Soldier trailers, only for his death to prove temporary. Displaying Rhodey like that feels like classic misdirection, meaning someone else will have to fall in his place. The question is who? It has to be a supporting character with no solo movie of their own, so anybody from Black Widow, Hawkeye or Falcon could be up for the chop. Or if Marvel are feeling really brave Captain America himself could die like he did in the comic; if anything is going to leave lasting consequences on the MCU, it would the death of a beloved hero.
