Every Upcoming Disney Live-Action Remake - Ranked By Hype

7. Snow White And The Seven Dwarfs

In addition to prepping spin-offs revolving around Snow White's sister Rose Red and Prince Charming, Disney has greenlit a straight-up remake of 1937's seminal Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs.

Erin Cressida Wilson (The Girl on the Train) is set to write the film, while Oscar-winning songwriters Pasek and Paul (La La Land) are contributing new songs, though beyond that we're still waiting on director and casting announcements.

Given the near-universal mind-share of the Snow White story, a live-action remake could go down an absolute treat, especially if Wilson gave it a more contemporary feminist update (which she surely will).

It's got an inestimable legacy to live up to, but it's also one of the most stylistically luscious Disney animations, and one which affords perhaps the ripest opportunities for a modern reworking.
