With most MCU movies there will be a balance of both old and new characters. Even after this long there are almost countless heroes and villains to lean on from the source material, and will be for many years to come.

Phase Four so far has seen the introduction of a handful of instantly classic characters. The likes of Yelena Belova, Shang-Chi, and Kate Bishop are already fan favourites, and the anticipation is through the roof for when they will be on screens again.

While America Chavez may not quite be on the same level as the names above, she certainly enjoyed a solid debut in the Multiverse of Madness. She is unique, quite literally as there are no Variants of her throughout the multiverse, and has created a great platform for herself to grow from in the franchise.

Her debut may have seen her used a little too often as a plot device to travel the multiverse rather than a character in her own right, but there was enough presence, development, and sarcasm to make a strong start to life in the MCU.
