MCU: Every Phase 3 Main Villain Ranked From Worst To Best
2. Killmonger
Every villain believes in their own minds that what they are doing is the right thing, and that those standing in their way are in the wrong. Killmonger is no different in this respect. The villain challenges and defeats T'Challa for the throne of Wakanda, with the ultimate aim of using the nation's resources to help rally the oppressed across the globe.
This is a noble act in its own way, though the means through which he intends to achieve it is not. Wakandan technology could help millions around the world, but it is kept secret from them. Killmonger wishes to change this by arming the oppressed, triggering a revolution of sorts.
There are few death scenes as powerful in the MCU than Killmonger's. When the Wakandan prince is eventually defeated by T'Challa, he decides to ensure his own death, preferring this ultimate outcome to bondage and the fate of the oppressed around the world. Though he is the villain, his principles are incredibly moving, and resonate with T'Challa and audiences alike.
This convinces the Black Panther to open the doors of Wakanda to the world, setting up an embassy where Killmonger's father was murdered. Though he was ultimately defeated, this villain had a good, lasting impact on the world.
