Ranking Freddy Krueger's Deaths Worst To Best

4. Battle Of Two Titans - Freddy Vs. Jason (2003)

Freddy Krueger On Fire
New Line Cinema

In the legendary Robert Englund's final big screen appearance as Krueger, Freddy vs. Jason is the world's biggest horror match up.

The film kicks off with a pretty solid premise: Freddy is powerless in hell as all the kids in Springwood have forgotten about him and his crimes. To reclaim his power, he tricks Friday the 13th's very own Jason Voorhees to begin killing local teens in an attempt to persuade people that he has returned. The plan works for a time, however when Jason begins robbing kills from Freddy, he proclaims it's "time to put a bad dog down."

The film's final collection of teenagers devise a plan that involves that classic tactic of pulling Freddy into the real world and forcing him to fight it out with Jason at Camp Crystal Lake, the setting of the Friday the 13th films. The resulting fight between Freddy and Jason is big, gory and brilliantly gruesome as the two horror icons make use of everything from a smashed row of windows, a loose stack of metal rods and even a collection of gas canisters lined up like missiles.

The gore is notched up another level as the fight concludes on Crystal Lake's dock, with Jason ripping off Freddy's arm before Krueger beats Jason with his own machete and stabs him in the eye with his finger knives. However, just when Freddy looks set to be crowned the victor, he is stabbed in the back by his own finger knives by Jason and decapitated by final girl Lori.

Though his head gives the audience one last wink before the final credits roll, the gore and brutality of this fight should be enough to see Freddy vs. Jason earn a place on this list.
