Star Trek: Every Starfleet Starship Class Ranked Worst To Best

13. Universe

Star Trek Enterprise J

The Universe class ship has the distinction of not being seen properly on-screen, yet standing out as one of the most striking and enduring designs from the fleet. Operating in the 26th century, the Universe class Enterprise-J was an enormous ship - rivaling a Borg Cube in terms of girth.

It was not simply large for large sake - the Universe class could carry entire colonies from planet to planet and, thanks to the technology of the future, it could reduce the necessary yet cumbersome parts of the ship. The warp nacelles looked very spindly to the eye, yet were as strong as the most fortified vessel from earlier years.

While the ship has yet to return on-screen, it stands out as one of the crowning achievements of Starfleet.
