The Suicide Squad: Every Character Explained
10. Bloodsport
The mystery surrounding Idris Elba's casting in the Suicide Squad led to fans debating over which character he will be playing more than any other. Originally announced to be taking the Deadshot mantle from Will Smith, it was later confirmed the Englishman would be bringing a new character to life.
Not Bronze Tiger, Deathstroke, or Sportsmaster, but Bloodsport. Since the character's DC comics debut in 1987, there have been three men to take the mantle. Robert DuBios, Alex Trent, and an unnamed villain have all acted under the Bloodsport name, and for now it's unclear exactly which version we will be seeing.
What we know about the cinematic version of the character so far is that his daughter will be Tyla, played by Storm Reid, and he will be walking into Task Force X's new mission more heavily armed than any other member of the team.
One of the biggest reveals from the entire panel came as part of Bloodsport's backstory. The reason the villain was arrested was because he shot at Superman with a Kryptonite bullet. It's unlikely this scene will actually be in the movie itself, since Gunn would have been crazy to spoil it a year before its release, but any kind of reference to the Man of Steel will be a welcome one.
