10 Best Pokémon Spin-Off Games You MUST Play
2. Pokémon Snap
Pokémon Snap featured highly on the list of Nintendo games that should be remastered for the Switch, and with good reason. Though it came several years before PokéPark Wii, it was even better at displaying the personality of Pokémon outside of battle.
The number one Pokémon spin off also has a snapshot feature, and players have loved getting to grips with this new element. For some, training and battling is the be all and end all of Pokémon, but for those who see the creatures as pets, games like Snap are ideal.
It wasn’t just as simple as wandering around and snapping photographs though. Pokémon Snap let you be Kanto’s version of David Attenborough, setting the scene and lying in wait for the perfect shot of a Pokémon.
There’s nothing wrong with a game taking itself more seriously (as a few games below prove), but Pokémon Snap is a reminder that this game we all love is, by and large, a franchise for children.
Snap shares a sense of unbridled fun with PokéPark Wii, but without slightly turgid mechanics getting the way of a good time.
