9. Hellboy
Hellboy has earned a devoted fanbase over the years and has enjoyed success on the big screen and in animated films.
Hellboy, or Anung Un Rama as he is also known, was summoned to Earth by Nazi occultists and was discovered by Allied Forces on a fictional island in the Outer Hebrides. He was renamed Hellboy and recruited by the United States as an agent of the Bureau of Paranormal Research and Defence, where they fight against dark forces that are rooted in ancient folklore and Lovecraftian horror.
The story of a Hellboy game should make the most of his extensive knowledge of the supernatural, his ironic humour and the journey he takes to discover his origins, as well as the prophecies that he is to be the harbinger of the apocalypse. Gameplay should revolve around Hellboy’s love for firearms, his ability to use ancient relics and, of course, his right hand made out of stone.
