10 Doctor Who Video Games That Must Be Made

8. A Real-Time Strategy Game

This is one of those ideas that's hamstrung by the need for most Doctor Who offshoots to be accessible to children. But a real-time strategy game worked for Star Wars so it's entirely possible that a Doctor Who one could end paying pretty significant dividends. Although it€™s a sci-fi adventure series, Doctor Who has included a lot of war settings over the years that would provide ample material for a real-time strategy game. Sontarans vs Rutans. Cybermen vs humans. Daleks vs... anyone. There's a lot of range for a war-focussed game. The strongest idea for a Doctor Who RTS would be basing it on the Time War. Although Russell T. Davies has gone on record as saying that it could never be visualised onscreen, The Day Of The Doctor showed the Fall Of Arcadia which means that there are at least some battles that can be brought to the screen in some way. And the Time Lords as a playable faction could potentially bring a lot to the usually homogenous gameplay of RTS games, with one of the Time Lords€™ most widely used weapons in the Time War being the Battle Tardis; heavily armed Tardises that can use Time Torpedoes to suspend enemy ships in the Time Vortex. Which could be used in a lot of innovative ways within an RTS game engine like the use of them guaranteeing a pre-emptive strike against the enemy.
