10 Dumb Video Game Heroes With The WORST Motivations
8. Mass Extinction Of A Sacred Species To Save One Person - Shadow Of The Colossus
Shadow of the Colossus is one of the most upsetting games ever when you think about it. Above all else though, it's a game about one man's selfish desires at the cost of an entire ecosystem.
If the Wanderer had thought about what he was about to do for even a second, he would have clocked onto the fact that what he was doing was morally wrong. To break the curse on the girl, he is trespassing on sacred land that is CLEARLY marked off by the local people, hunting endangered creatures vital to the ecosystem, and casting a forbidden spell.
But Wander didn't think.
This so-called hero felt compelled to do what he wanted no matter the cost. Heck, he even injured Argo, his lovely horse, by making him jump onto a rickety bridge!
Yes, the girl is cursed and that is a horrible thing, but this is one hero that never learned the scale of destruction he would leave in his wake. At least he gets his just deserts in the end.
In a cruel twist of irony, both the girl and Argo are alive, but I'll never forgive the Wanderer for his part in the accident caused the horse such an injury.
