10 Greatest Ever Levels In Hitman Video Games
9. Deadly Cargo - Hitman: Contracts
Deadly Cargo is a fine example of a Catch-22. Boris Ivanovich Deruzka, an arms dealer, has purchased a nuclear weapon from a biker gang.
Armed for detonation, a squad of rifle-wielding sailors are patrolling his tanker. With the area locked down and the workers sent to the nearest strip club (those lucky sons of...), a SWAT team gets in position to storm the ship and take Boris alive. Worst of all, the bomb is Boris' bargaining chip in exchange for an escape helicopter. It's another race to see who can nab the bad guy first.
The mission is quite hefty, with three warehouses opposite the boat, all connected by sewers. While the strip club can be used to acquire a handy worker's outfit, riskier players can take their chances by sneaking past the police station. One can infiltrate the boat as a sailor, dress as a worker and shoot Boris, snipe his cranium with the SWAT sniper's gear when the cops attack - the possibilities are endless.
You'll need to remain flexible and change your plan should the cops decide to rush in guns-blazing. Any shifty movements or gunfire will make them spring into action, and the last thing you want to do is be caught on the boat dressed as a sailor when the troops and helicopter arrive!
What can be done about the bomb? The mission is tense enough with this in the equation, but a tracking device can be attached to the delivery car, so those speedy enough can slip in, deactivate it and leave Boris without his trump card. A small mistake could cost a player the sweet taste of victory, but few levels in the entire series come close to replicating how suspenseful things can get in this one.
