10 Huge 2017 Video Game Rumours You're Not Supposed To Know
9. Rockstar Will (Finally) Release Red Dead 3
Speculation around a sequel for Red Dead Redemption has been rife for years, with everything from brand loyalty to purported concept art being touted as an indication that the game is in development. Nothing concrete about this sequel has come from the studio just yet, but there's plenty of reason to expect we'll actually get to play it in 2017.
Recently we brought you the news of an unattached Twitter user seemingly suggesting that Rockstar Studios will have a presence at the PlayStation Meeting on September 7th, with Red Dead 3 being the favoured announcement. You can make your own mind up about whether the author of the tweet can be trusted, but it is worth noting they've had success predicting Fallout 4's E3 2015 reveal in the past.
With the tentatively titled 'Agent' (and an inevitable GTA VI) being the only things on the Rockstar slate for the future, they are in need of a big announcement to keep their fans happy moving forward. The commitment to GTA Online's post-launch content has been keeping many content, but a studio like Rockstar knows that gamers' goodwill is a very limited thing.
Announcing the game before end of this year makes total sense, and the 2017-shaped gap in their schedule will be perfect for it.
