10 Iconic Video Game Franchises That Can't Catch A Break

The Metroid series is another Nintendo classic that just doesn't seem to be getting the love and attention it deserves from Nintendo. Despite having a devoted and vocal fan-base, the series hasn't seen a main entry since 2010. Metroid: Other M released on the Wii and was pretty well received, making it odd that the game hasn't lad to a new entry in the franchise.

It is true that Metroid Prime 4 has been announced, but that was three years ago now. All that was shown was a single logo, and to make matters worse Nintendo announced in early 2019 that the game had actually started development again as the previous developers had not met their standards. While it's great that Nintendo are taking the time to make sure that the game is the best it possibly can be, it means that the franchise has gone an entire decade without an instalment.

Since the new development cycle began nothing has been released still. You'd think by now we'd have seen something, but it could be that we don't get our hands on Metroid Prime 4 until late 2021.
