4. The Carmine Brothers (Gears Of War)

Characters can become overwhelmingly popular for various reasons and some of them can be quite bizarre - take the Carmine family for instance from Gears of War. First appearing with Anthony Carmine in the original Gears of War, three of the four Carmine brothers have appeared in the series so far and everyone has been a firm fan favourite, despite their penchant for death. Anthony is killed by a sniper shot to the head whilst complaining that his gun is jammed whilst his brother Ben Carmine is killed in GoW2 during a fight within the monstrous Rift Worm. Only Clay Carmine remains of the group (there was a fan vote before the third game's release to determine whether Clay lived or died; he eventually lived); the whereabouts of the fourth brother are unknown. Still, the three Carmines have remained popular in online play and have many tributes throughout the series (mainly through over characters telling each other to watch their heads or practice reloading); a game based around the four Carmine brothers would be a neat way to pay tribute to the bizarrely popular family. Let's just hope it doesn't all end in a complete wipeout of the family.
