10 Major Problems With 2018's Biggest Video Games
9. Crackdown 3 Doesn't Have A Single Original Hook
Let's not beat around the agility orb - Crackdown 3 is being released to die.
Even with the Xbox One X potentially ensnaring more consumers across the Xmas period, there's not a single thing about its marketing, 'new' game features or overall aesthetic that looks worthwhile. Yes, you can argue that "more Crackdown" is a good thing, but that was the mandate for the utterly threadbare Crackdown 2 in 2010, which led to the seven year hiatus in the first place.
Indeed, Crackdown worked because it dropped in an era before superheroes dominated the culture-sphere, before open-world games would become one of gaming's most prominent genres in the medium, and before the Saints Row franchise would go hog-wild with various overblown abilities of their own.
Crackdown 3 has nothing to offer than a "fully destructible world", which when the base gameplay will be more plain high-jumping and float-shooting, just isn't enough.
