10 Most Useless Character Customisations Found In A Video Game

1. Final Fantasy XIV

Final Fantasy XIV may have saved itself from the edge of oblivion to become a mammoth hit, but that's surprising considering how thoroughly mediocre the character creator is.

You start by picking your character's race, gender, and clan, after which you're able to modify more than 20 aspects of your appearance, yet most of them disappointingly contain a staggeringly small number of variations.

For a game intending to bring the Final Fantasy experience to life like never before, it's a crying shame that there's so little granularity and choice for basic elements such as faces and hairstyles, with many even being locked behind races and genders.

FFXIV is desperately in need of sliders for most major physical attributes, but given that fans have been asking for a major overhaul pretty much ever since release, it seems unlikely to happen, perhaps due to the extreme complexity of changing, well, anything in an MMORPG.
