10 Ridiculous Adult Jokes Hidden In Video Games

2. The Innuendo-Tastic Working Titles (Ratchet & Clank)

Yes, we're cheating a little: the "adult joke" here isn't included in the actual game, but rather, it's to do with the way that the entries in the Ratchet & Clank series are titled.

The cartoony action-platformer franchise has been around since the start of the century, with the first game in the series spawning a legacy that still endures to this day. And hilariously, almost every subsequent sequel has carried a title that can be looked at as a very clear sexual innuendo.

Things like Up Your Arsenal, Going Commando, Tools Of Destruction, Quest For Booty, Full Frontal Assault - and best of all, PSP spinoff Size Matters - have been slapped across the series' packaging over the years, but something that's a lot more unknown is that developer Insomniac also comes up with alternate titles for its Ratchet & Clank games, and these are just as cheeky as the ones they eventually go with.

For instance, Ratchet & Clank: All 4 One had several working titles, including Multiple Organisms, Bros b4 Foes, and Fiends With Benefits, while Ratchet & Clank: Into The Nexus was almost called Into The Nether Regions instead.

A Crack In Time, meanwhile, was reportedly called "Clock Blockers" during development. Give us a remastered version with that on the box, pretty please!

Danny has been with WhatCulture for almost nine years, and is currently Doctor Who Editor and WhoCulture Channel Manager, overseeing all of WhatCulture's Whoniverse coverage. He has been writing and video editing for 10+ years, and first got a taste for content creation after making his own Doctor Who trailers and uploading them to YouTube (they're admittedly a bit rusty by today's standards). If you need someone to recite every Doctor Who episode in order or to tell you about the making of 1988's Remembrance of the Daleks, Danny is the person to ask.
