10 Talented Voice Actors You'll Find In All Your Favourite Video Games

5. Mark Hamill - Spyro, Darksiders, Batman: Arkham, X2: Wolverine's Revenge

Weirdy, Beardy Luke Skywalker himself has indeed appeared in many video games without you noticing him – probably because he isn’t whinging about not wanting to rule the galaxy with a decrepit old Emperor or getting all shouty when he finds out his dad is a half robotic serial killer (spoiler!).

Hamill is well known, and beloved, for his portrayal of Batman’s greatest foe in both the animated series and the long running video game franchise but that isn’t where his talents end. Instead, Hamill has carved out a niche for himself playing villains generally – there’s something about his delivery that can send chills down your spine if he’s on form.

Notable examples of Hamill’s video game work include: Py-Ro in Crash Bandicoot: Wrath of Cortex, Wolvering in X2: Wolverine’s Revenge, Goro Majima in the under-rated Yakuza, Malefor in Spyro: Dawn of the Dragon, The Watcher in Darksiders, Arnim Zola in Lego Avengers, Old-Man Colton in Squadron 42 and, of course, The Joker in every Batman game that matters.

I don’t know how a young Hamill would feel fresh off the Star Wars set if he were told he’d be playing villains for the rest of his days – he probably would’ve yelled ‘NO! THAT’S NOT POSSIBLE’ and thrown himself down a reactor shaft…
