Surgeon Simulator was among the first wave of video games to enjoy the exposure of the original Let's Play boom. A giant joke disguised as a bad-on-purpose medical sim, Surgeon Simulator took the gaming world by storm due to it being just so hilariously infuriating to play.

Naturally, such a well-crafted joke of a game would be made by folks who know gamers rather well, and thus, know what a gamer is thinking at any given time. Hence, the phone easter egg.

In your office, there is a phone. Certain numbers will yield different gags. Hearing that, you're probably all thinking what everyone thinks when the ability to dial a number on a phone is introduced in a game: what happens if I dial my own number? In other games, nothing, but in Surgeon Simulator? It actually calls your phone!

Not only that, but answering the call will help you to complete a convoluted puzzle that will result in a secret level. Clearly, Surgeon Simulator was made by folks who know the weird flights of fancy that gamers tend to go on.
