10 Video Game Franchises That Were Destroyed In A Single Moment

5. Perfect Dark - Developing The Sequel Over Three Platforms

Perfect Dark Zero Perfect Dark is without question one of the best games on the N64, a stand-out shooter from Rare that impossibly managed to live up to the enormous hype following their previous game, Goldeneye. 2005's Perfect Dark Zero, on the other hand, was a considerable disappointment, for though the visuals were stunning for the time, and the online co-op was revolutionary, the glitchy gameplay didn't exactly lend itself to something that had been carefully preened over five years. The second we picked up the controller, we knew we were in for a disappointment. It's easy to see why Zero flopped so hard, though; the game was initially planned for the Nintendo GameCube, but when Microsoft bought Rare, production transitioned to the Xbox. However, Microsoft eventually made the choice to push the game to the 360 instead, and the game very narrowly made its November 17th, 2005 release date.
