4. Defeating Bahamut Early Makes It Hard To Acquire Him Later - Final Fantasy III

Echo Game
Square Enix

Early on in Final Fantasy III, players will encounter Bahamut, in what's designed to be an unwinnable boss battle that results in the player's party being defeated.

But not everyone takes impossible odds quite so easily, as some players came to realise that, in the original NES version of the game, Bahamut could actually be defeated through either relentless grinding or glitches.

Yet this seemingly phenomenal achievement actually has a rather unfortunate consequence, as because it's not a "legitimate" victory designed by Square Enix, you won't gain Bahamut as a summon. And because you've defeated it, you won't get to face it again later in the game as intended.

This means the only way to acquire Bahamut is from the secret shop in Eureka, which players may very well not know about.

Considering how incredibly useful Bahamut is as a summon, you're basically playing yourself if you try to outsmart the game by beating the boss early.
