9. Ebony Blade - The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim
One of the most powerful weapons in Skyrim is the Ebony Blade, the artifact of the Deadric Prince of deceit, treachery, and murder, Mephala. And if this description didn't make it obvious, in order to obtain the sword and bring it to its full potential, you're going to have to stab everyone you know in the back.
The Ebony Blade is a reward for completing Mephala's quest, "The Whispering Door." After you complete the quest and find the Ebony Blade, Mephala herself will contact your character telepathically to tell them that in order to awaken the sword's true power, you'll have to fuel it with the blood of your trusted companions.
From that point, killing your followers and people you've helped with the Ebony Blade will enhance its health absorption powers with each act of treachery. Pretty much every companion and friend is on the table, and your reward for heeding Mephala's call is a sword with a whopping 30 health absorption damage, so their involuntary sacrifice is well worth it.
Of course, after you're done fortifying the blade, you'll barely have any friends left, but who needs friends when you have power?
