10 Ways Far Cry 5 Will Save The Franchise

2. Melee Combat Is Better Than Ever

No doubt inspired by the success of the melee system in Far Cry: Primal, the upcoming sequel is once again including a myriad of different handheld weapons that players can wield if they're getting a bit sick of the same-old shotguns and SMGs.

From sledgehammers and pitchforks to baseball bats and knives, there are plenty of new items for players to pummel their enemies with. Useful in both full-on engagements as well as stealth sections, the addition of an entire melee arsenal should theoretically encourage different playstyles, rather than prioritise the ones fans are used to.

A bit of variety goes a long way, and the ability to take on goons with makeshift weapons and things you've literally just picked up off the ground will keep the combat fresh, adding yet another level of brutality to Far Cry's already gory gameplay.
