11 Things Microsoft Wants You To Forget About The Xbox One
5. The Complete Lack Of A Must-Have Exclusive
What's on the horizon for the next generation consoles other than remasters of last year's games? In the Xbox One's case in terms of exclusives it's Sunset Overdrive, Project Spark and Halo: The Master Chief Collection - the latter of which is still a remaster - from the last decade. Many upcoming titles that haven't been delayed are cross-platform, such as Far Cry 4, Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor, Alien: Isolation and WWE 2K15, but all this means is you're probably better off grabbing the PS4 being it runs far better and has a bigger user-base. Sure the PS4 doesn't have any killer apps either, but in terms of Sony knowing how to captain their ship following how the PS3 performed last generation, it seems they've taken their bumps and know exactly what to do to win favour with the majority of gamers. With the general feeling on console gaming being that it may have reached its endpoint in comparison with the prowess offered by PC's, it doesn't help that you can't even point to something on the level of say Red Dead Redemption (a console exclusive) to confirm why it's worth buying one.
