12 Video Game Bosses That Were A Total Letdown

6. Kazumi - Tekken 7

Tekken 7 was billed as the conclusion of Kazuya's lifelong rivalry with his father, Heihachi. Since Kazuya's mother, Kazumi, is the indirect cause of this conflict, it made sense for her to serve as the final boss. Since the trailers hyped up this character like crazy, Kazumi was shaping up to be yet another iconic Tekken villain.

Although she looks ordinary in the beginning of the fight, purists assumed Kazumi would transform at the midway point, which is pretty standard for Tekken bosses.

Sure enough, Mother Mishima metamorphosises into Devil Kazumi after her first defeat, forcing players to rematch with her, now she's at the peak of her power.

During this match, Devil Kazumi looks... pretty silly. With her hime bangs and kabuki make-up, she looks more like a stage performer than a demonic villain. Considering how consistent Namco has been with character designs throughout the series, it's surprising how they couldn't come up with anything better.

Now, Devil Kazumi's underwhelming appearance could be forgiven if the fight itself was up to standard. Sadly, this adversary relies on the same old strategies players have seen time and time again.

What's worse is this she-ogre doesn't put up much of a fight, which is sure to enrage anyone who wanted to test their mettle. Tekken bosses like Jinpachi and Azazel were a pain in the ass, but at least they were memorable and challenging.
