14 Most Memorable Closing Lines In Video Game History

4. "You Are Now The Strongest Street Fighter In The World."- Street Fighter

Capcom's original title in the Street Fighter line was a different take on fighting games when it launched, when most developers were more inclined to make beat-em-up's instead of traditional fighters. Taking control of Ryu, the player must traverse through a long international fighting tournament to prove their strength and ability in the world of fighting. There was not much plot to go on in the game, with post-fight dialogue being the only form of story, but at the end of the game, the developers added a retrospective story detail that filled in some of the blanks and represented a significant source of pride for players. After countless fights during the tournament, the player finally reaches the final match: a fight with Sagat. While the game itself is short, the game constantly rises in challenge, especially in the penultimate fight with Adon; however, the match against Sagat is even more challenging, as his flaming projectile attack is practically a one hit KO and his incredibly long reach will keep even the most skilled fighters at bay. After besting him in two rounds, he himself will proclaim the player to be the strongest fighter in the world, which is a compliment that is easily well deserved.
