15 Famous Video Game Tattoos (And What They Actually Mean)

3. Jin Kazama - Tekken

It may look a bit '90s' by today's tattoo standards, but Jin's tribal tat on his left bicep is not just there to draw attention to his bulging guns. Despite its formulaic appearance, Jin's tattoo isn't your typical 'ink-under-the-skin' jobbie, but more of a demonic birthmark. Jin got the mark from the devilish form of his nemesis Kazuya, who you can witness branding Jin with it in Tekken 3's opening cinematic. The tattoo is related to the Devil Gene, which Jin has the misfortune of bearing, and which makes him prone to turning into a demonic being from time to time (on the bright side, this does mean he gets to fly and shoot lasers out of his eyes). Whether the brand is to serve as a permanent reminder of Jin's dark alter-ego or whether it's what created the alter-ego in the first place is unclear. What is certain, however, is that it's definitely more significant than the tribal bicep tat worn by your average juiced-up gym monkey.
