15 Famous Video Game Tattoos (And What They Actually Mean)

8. Rei Kurosawa - Fatal Frame

If you're feeling a bit bummed out by a tattoo you've grown to despise, then you may find some consolation in the body art predicament the heroine of the Fatal Frame games finds herself in. In Fatal Frame III, poor Rei Kurosawa gets afflicted with the Tattooed Curse, which entails a deadly tattoo growing on the victim's flesh, then snaking its way up the body. The tattoo itself actually looks quite good on Rei - a thin, meandering design of snakes and hollies, which represent mourning and spiritual pain respectively. As you can see from the picture though, she's not that into it. The Snake-and-Holly tat is free, pretty, and appears without having to get your skin punctured with needles. In a way, it would be the perfect tattoo if it wasn't for the fact that it comes packaged with other symptoms including terrifying hallucinations, nightmares, and eventually disappearing from the face of the earth.
