15 Most Ridiculously Difficult Challenges In Final Fantasy History

10. Catching The Pink Jade Gar And Regal Arapiama (XV)

Final Fantasy VII

Fishing was the predominant mini-game included in Final Fantasy XV and required the use of a rod, reel, line and lure, with the line damaged as the fish resisted capture and the lure lost if the line broke.

At the highest level and with the best equipment, 98 of the game's 100 fish were a walk in the park to reel in. Actually luring them in the first place was more difficult given that each variety only appeared in specific locations at specific times of the day and only responded to specific lures from the huge selection available.

The remaining two were the bane of any angler, however, as the Pink Jade Gar's constant directional changes required extraordinary reflexes to keep up with and broke even the best equipment in seconds, whereas the Regal Arapiama's sheer mass resulted in a long war of attrition that would almost always end in the fish wearing down the player's equipment before they could wear down its resistance.

New foodstuffs in the Moogle-Chocobo Carnival DLC added fishing-related buffs, but even with those the two remained missing from all but the most dedicated players collections.
