20 Best Video Games Of 2018 (So Far)
5. Dragon Ball FighterZ
It took a long, long time, but we finally have a truly great, recommendable to literally everyone Dragon Ball Z game.
Outside of the pristine, literally-looks-like-the-show graphics is a combo setup and bunch of movelists that channel the almighty Street Fighter II.
Developers Arc System Works have long perfected such 2D fighting systems across their own Guilty Gear franchise, but FighterZ knows just how to balance rock, paper, scissors-approaches to special attacks, with combo possibilities you'll intuitively start busting out.
It's the latter that really gives DBFZ legs online. Auto-combos immediately get newcomers off the ground, while veterans know how to dodge, conserve energy, bust out endless string-providing launchers and screen-clearing specials.
A round of FighterZ is a fireworks display of high-kicks and Kamehamehas - it's just about the most glorious thing anybody's ever seen, no matter if they're Dragon Ball fans or not.
