5 Great X-Men Video Games & 5 That Sucked

2. Sucked - X-Men II: The Fall Of The Mutants (DOS, 1990)

Paragon Software had a short but arguably successful run when it comes to creating Marvel video games. Operating in the late 80s and early 90s, they put together five games in the span of three years featuring the likes of Spider-Man, The Punisher, Captain America, and the X-Men.

Unfortunately, this is a case where quantity doesn't substitute for quality.

Their first title, X-Men: Madness in Murderworld birthed a sequel X-Men II: The Fall of the Mutants — and fall did it ever.

Granted, the game does offer a diverse selection of 15 X-Men to play as, but the play itself is less than exciting. Scrolling around the screen with an overhead viewpoint, The Fall of the Mutants is more adventure-based than action-packed — envision Pokemon crossed with X-Men characters and let that disappointment sink in.
