5 Great X-Men Video Games & 5 That Sucked

4. Sucked - X-Men: Destiny (Multiple Platforms, 2011)

At first glance, X-Men: Destiny seems like a refreshingly exciting game. Instead of choosing from the same line-up of playable X-Men characters, players had the opportunity to essentially create their own mutant and lead them through a series of choices that would align them with either the X-Men or the Brotherhood.

Sadly, that's where the excitement stops. The idea was solid but the execution was not, leaving players underwhelmed and desiring more. Even repeated plays of the game to explore different storyline scenarios is not enough to redeem it.

Most choices had no bearing on the outcome of the game until it was time to choose a side. Diverse character cameos were a plus, but the overall game felt hollow. It lacked consequence and didn't give players an incentive to become fully engaged in the game.

A great concept, no question. A great game? Far from it.
