7 Ways PES 2018 Is Better Than FIFA 18

3. Your Manager Matters More

After you've picked from the few generic models EA afforded in FIFA 18, you're off to the races and can enjoy a Career Mode filled with exciting moments like seeing your man hoist trophies above his head. Not so fast, because that doesn't happen in FIFA. Thankfully, it does in PES, and that means way more than occasional nods towards a bored-looking Create-A-Manager on the sidelines.

There's no official likenesses of managers like Guardiola, Mourinho or Wenger in PES 2018, and that may put some people off. Please, don't let it. With a little time and effort, a decent-looking manager is achievable in Master League mode and you'll even see them mingle with players after title triumphs or vital Champions League wins.

EA must be taken to task for allowing gamers to create a manager then stripping their usefulness. On that note, both PES and FIFA could do with adding a few RPG elements to our creations, but if we're going to play mannequin manager then Konami get the nod this year.

At least they had the foresight to include a sense of achievement.
