8 Obvious Flaws In Recent Video Games Everyone Ignores

4. Where's Venom? - Spider-Man 2

Marvels Spider Man 2 Venom
Insomniac

Like Sam Raimi's Spider-Man 2, Insomniac's wall-crawling sequel amps up everything that made the original awesome. There's a bigger New York, a bigger story, and two Spider-Man heroes in Peter Parker and Miles Morales, the latter of whom has fully stepped into the role following the events of Spider-Man: Miles Morales. On top of that, the gadgets and traversal features have been finessed to perfection. This follow-up also irons out the minor quibbles of its predecessor (especially the MJ sections). All in all, a worthy successor to the original Marvel's Spider-Man.

Ironically, Spider-Man 2's biggest flaw is the one thing that many Spidey fans would've been most excited about. Since the project was announced, it was clear the story centred around iconic baddie, Venom. Though Peter Parker's conflict with the alien symbiote and Venom's host, Harry Osborn, is well explored, the toothy supervillain doesn't show up until very late in the main campaign.

This is more disappointing since the devilish extra-terrestrial was supposed to have a meatier role. According to Venom's voice actor, Tony Todd, 90% of his dialogue was left on the cutting room floor. Not only that, a Venom chase sequence, similar to the Rhino battle in Spider-Man: Miles Morales, also got the chop. Just to rub salt in the wounds, Marvel's Spider-Man 2 was also set to have much more at one point in development Symbiote action, with the webslinging pair battling several of Venom's spawn.

No one should expect every idea to make it into the finished product. Nevertheless, it's a shame most of Marvel's Spider-Man 2's cut content happens to revolve around the game's biggest selling point.
