1. Boardwalk Empire
'Boardwalk Empire' tells the tale of bootleggers and gangsters in the prohibition era. With a wealth of characters, almost all of whom are looking for advancement and power at any cost, to draw from, a video game based on the series could be gritty, brutal and engaging. In the world of Scorsese's Boardwalk Empire, everybody is looking for a better life, be they motivated by poverty and grief or greed and lust. A video game based on the show could put players in the shoes of various different characters, each of whom has a unique viewpoint on the world and a very different status within it. Alternatively, players could be tasked with creating their own character and starting at the bottom of the proverbial food-chain before taking on the task of moving through the ranks and rising to the top. Taking example from the 'Mafia' series, a game that could correctly reflect the corruption and despair that runs through the heart of America during this time would be an engaging and truly special one. Video games these days are excellent at portraying criminals and gangsters; looks no further than Rockstar's GTA series. It's a genre that intrigues players as it offers a way into the kind of life that we always secretly wonder about, but no we would never venture into. So, for players out there who like games to engage their dark side, this one would be for you!
