9 Things Nobody Wants To Admit About Far Cry 5
4. Hunting And The Economy Are Wasted
One of the most enjoyable things about the Far Cry series is its animal economy. Not only does seeing wild, exotic creatures roaming the game's open world give it a dynamism and a believability that other titles lack, but it also acts as a solid gameplay pillar. Tying crafting to this system was genius, and hunting down dangerous animals and using their skins to craft resources made contextual sense, as well as encouraging players to interact more deeply with this world.
However, despite animals once again being included, the developers have stripped out any real reason to interact with them, as being able to craft upgrades from pelts has been removed entirely - making hunting only beneficial if you want to make a few pennies on the side.
Because there are so many different ways to make money in the game, going to the trouble of attacking the wildlife often isn't worth it - especially when there's nothing game-changing to buy with your cash anyway.
It's such a disappointing change, and has diluted one of the most unique things Far Cry had going for it.
