7. Up: Less Side Missions

Assassins Creed Valhalla

We have all done it, been faced with a pileup of side missions that you can’t be bothered with, so skip through all the dialogue and finish the mission as quickly as possible. In Valhalla this becomes less of an issue as boring side missions are replaced by easier, more lighthearted tasks.

The introduction of world events was an inspired decision. They are one-off, short quests that were perfect in helping Valhalla become a free-flowing, fun game. Some are genuinely funny as well.

Add to this the increase in puzzles and the introduction of Orlog, the greatest dice game of all time. The game becomes less of an effort to play and more fun.

The game addressed the issue of too many side missions and replaced them with fun, light-hearted puzzles and quests. They helped to improve the game and sales of Orlog dice sets (you can’t get them really, I checked)
