5. Down: Useless Raven

Assassins Creed Valhalla

Similar to the last point but the decline of the once essential raven is so upsetting, that it deserves its own segment.

In games gone by your little feathered friend was the ultimate companion, as it helped you take down multiple enemies in ultra-stealth mode. It gave you the ability to pin-point foes from a high vantage point and take down establishments unnoticed. It made you feel like the ultimate assassin, whether you were sneakily taking out a member of the order or mercilessly killing the guards.

In Valhalla, it can only point you in the general direction, when you are looking for the location of a task. You can mark soldiers but the tagging system is clumsy and the bird is difficult to control. It used to be a vital weapon as you planned out your assaults, now it's only useful for getting decent photo angles.

It is a sad demise for a once essential part of the game but with less emphasis on the stealth side, the result was inevitable.
