Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare - 10 Ways Multiplayer Is COMPLETELY Different
9. Up To 100-Player Game Modes
One of the most tantalising changes that will impact even the most unchanging Call of Duty game modes, is the decision by Infinity War to make matches larger by throwing even more players into the mix. So far, regular modes like Team Deathmatch have been shown to support 10v10 and 20v20, while Ground War will reportedly support anywhere from 64-100 players depending on the map, and will adopt some of the larger, multi-objective features of WW2's War mode.
This is something Call of Duty has never tried before in its regular multiplayer, and with maps being larger than ever, could be a winning move to freshen up the standard formula. It's not going to transform into Battlefield, but the concept of 'all out war' works so well for that franchise, and bigger game modes also made WW2's multiplayer suite so refreshing.
Blackout functioned as a proof of concept for larger-scale battles in the COD universe, and with that knowledge gained and a new engine purpose built to support these players, Infinity Ward should be able to realise the franchise's signature multiplayer anarchy on an unprecedented scale.
