There are two more modest modes included in the game's current playlist that are well worth trying out: Realism and Gunfight.

Realism strips away the HUD elements and makes headshots a one-hit kill, creating a more urgent and intense experience than the more arcade-y core style.

This also requires players to listen out for enemy footsteps and try to keep track of their ammo without any on-screen indicators, removing various visual elements players take for granted and flipping the game on its head in the process.

Then there's Gunfight, a 2v2 mode where players are given a random loadout each round, and a round is won by simply eliminating the other team.

This often means that you'll last a whole 10 seconds before dying, but rounds are typically over so fast that it's tough to get frustrated.

The single-life mechanic also makes rounds decidedly more tense and captivating, and it's easy to imagine how Gunfight's bite-sized presentation will become a fave among streamers in particular.
