FIFA 18 Vs. PES 2018: Which Game Is Better?

5. Number Of Modes (FIFA)

FIFA 18 The Journey 2
EA Sports

As aforementioned, being able to play in the real Champions League and Europa League in PES 2018 is a nice touch. Those competitions carry a lot of weight with footy fans, so hearing that familiar Champions League anthem as you line up is a genuine thrill. Aside from that though, PES doesn't have much to shout about.

Master League feels the same, the 'Become A Legend' feature is as boring as they come and there's precious little else to sink your teeth into offline other than random exhibition matches or tournaments. On the subject of 'Become A Legend', that mode has been completely trumped by FIFA 18's continuation of The Journey.

A single-player story to be proud of, EA's in-game version of the old Sky series Dream Team is one FIFA can rightly crow about. The story of Alex Hunter won't be for everyone, but at least it's there to mess around with when you get bored. PES is more of a skeletal experience by comparison.

Winner: FIFA 18.
